Wedding highlight films
Relive the story of the day in a concise, carefully edited film. A highlight can bring together preparations, ceremony moments, portraits, reception details, speeches, dancing and natural sound. Tell us whether you prefer a film led by vows and speeches, atmosphere and music, or a balanced combination.
Documentary wedding films
Give the day more room to unfold. A documentary-style film can follow the celebration in greater detail and preserve more of the ceremony, speeches and programme. The expected duration and included sections are agreed before the wedding rather than left open-ended.
Complete ceremony recordings
Keep the ceremony as a continuous record, including the entrance, vows, readings, prayers, traditions and signing where included in your brief. A complete ceremony film requires suitable camera continuity, clear sound and confirmed venue positions.
Speeches and reception programme
Preserve the full words from parents, friends, the wedding party and the couple. Cake cutting, performances, formal dances and other reception activities can also be recorded when they are listed in the programme and coverage plan.
Pre-wedding story films
Create a separate film before the wedding to tell part of your story, share a message or play during the celebration. This is planned as its own production with an agreed concept, location, filming date and final edit.
Short and vertical wedding edits
Receive shorter versions prepared for sharing on selected social channels. Vertical framing, duration, quantity and delivery timing need to be planned before filming so the right moments are captured for those formats.
Highlight film or documentary film?
A highlight film uses selected moments, natural sound, speech excerpts and music to create a concise emotional story. It is designed to be watched and shared easily, but it does not include every reading, speech or performance.
A documentary film preserves more of the wedding as it happened. It may include longer ceremony sections, complete speeches and a more chronological structure. “Documentary” still needs a defined duration and content list; it does not automatically mean every camera file from the day.
Many couples choose both: a highlight for the feeling and a documentary or separate ceremony and speech films for the fuller memory. Tell us exactly what you want to revisit. We can then plan the cameras, sound and coverage needed for each deliverable.

From your plans to the finished films
Tell us whether you need a highlight, documentary film, complete ceremony, full speeches, pre-wedding film or social edits. Include your preferred duration and privacy choices for each version.
We review preparations, travel, ceremony, portraits, reception and non-repeatable moments. When activities happen at the same time or in distant locations, the plan identifies the priorities or additional coverage needed.
You introduce us to the planner, venue or ceremony contacts and explain any camera restrictions. We identify the vows, readings, speeches, performances and traditions that need clear sound or special attention.
We follow the agreed schedule while responding to real moments. A planner or nominated wedding contact communicates important changes so the couple can stay present instead of managing the production.
The footage and sound are shaped into the agreed versions. The couple or nominated approver sends one consolidated set of comments during the review round stated in the quotation.
We deliver the named formats through the access route agreed in writing. The editing and delivery schedule depends on the films, coverage and review process and is confirmed before booking.
Sound carries the emotion
Vows, prayers, readings, speeches, performances and the natural sounds around the day often become the most meaningful parts of a wedding film. Tell us which moments you want to hear in full and which may be used as excerpts in the highlight.
A venue sound system is designed for guests in the room and does not automatically provide a clean recording. Share the ceremony and reception technical contacts where available. Outdoor ceremonies, unamplified traditions, moving speakers and audience participation need particular planning.
If the wedding includes several languages, tell us which films need captions or translation. Supply the correct spelling of names, family relationships and specialist terms, and nominate someone who can confirm the meaning in context.
Build a timeline that cameras can follow
Share the planned times for preparations, departures, ceremony, portraits, reception entrance, speeches, cake, performances and final activities. Allow realistic travel and setup time between locations.
If both partners prepare in different places at the same time, one videographer cannot record both continuously. The coverage must prioritise one location or include enough staffing for both. The same applies when portraits, guest entertainment and reception details happen simultaneously.
Protect time for couple portraits and supporting scenes without delaying the formal programme. Video needs movement and continuity; photography may need brief pauses and still poses. A coordinated schedule gives each team enough space to create its planned work.
If the wedding runs late, the quotation should already explain the coverage finish time and how a request for additional time will be handled. This avoids asking the couple to make an unexpected decision in the middle of the celebration.
Coordinate wedding photography and video
Add wedding photography when you want a complete still-image record alongside the films. Share one timeline, venue contact sheet and family priority list with both teams.
Photography and video can coordinate preparations, portraits, ceremony positions, entrances, speeches and the first dance. They still create different products. Photographs, albums, highlight films, ceremony recordings and social edits are listed separately even when booked together.
Do not rely on still frames taken from video as a substitute for planned photography. Video framing, motion and shutter choices serve a moving sequence, while a photographer deliberately creates individual images for albums, prints and publication.
Traditions, family and personal boundaries
Tell us about cultural, religious and family traditions that carry special importance. Explain who leads them, where they take place and whether camera movement, lighting or positions are restricted. The production team should not have to guess the significance of a moment while the programme is moving quickly.
Identify relatives or guests who deserve particular attention and any sensitive relationship or circumstance that affects filming or editing. Tell us about children, private guests or moments that should not appear in a public version.
Booking wedding videography does not automatically authorise Shammah Media to post your names, venue or film publicly. Portfolio and promotional use require separate approval. Your quotation and privacy choices should make the intended sharing clear.
Music for your wedding film
Music shapes the pace and feeling of an edit, but a favourite commercial song is not automatically available for use in a delivered or publicly shared wedding film. Discuss the mood, energy and meaning you prefer as well as any specific track ideas.
The quotation should state how included music is selected and used. Entrance songs, live performances, projected videos and other third-party content may also affect what can appear in a public edit.
Natural sound should remain part of the story. Vows, laughter, applause and speeches can make a film feel personal in a way that music alone cannot.
Review your films without losing the story
Choose one person or the couple together to provide final feedback. Relatives and wedding-party members can share thoughts through that coordinator, who returns one consolidated set of time-coded comments.
The included review round covers corrections and refinements within the approved films. A newly requested version, removing a central person, replacing the full music direction or substantially restructuring a completed film may require additional work.
Editing cannot recreate a missed ceremony moment or repair every sound limitation after the wedding. The planning stage is where your priorities, access and audio needs have the greatest effect on the result.
Raw footage and editable project files are not automatically included. If you want camera files, request them before quotation so transfer, organisation, storage, third-party content and practical viewing limitations can be explained in writing.
Weddings outside Nairobi and multi-day celebrations
Shammah Media can assess weddings across Kenya according to the dates, locations, programme, crew, transport and accommodation required. Tell us which functions need filming and which final films should include material from each day.
For destination and multi-day weddings, share travel dates, venue access, ceremony restrictions and local contacts early. Couples coordinating from abroad should also provide their time zone and nominate an on-the-ground planner or family contact.
Travel outside Nairobi is quoted separately. The production is confirmed only when the actual itinerary and coverage plan are agreed, rather than implying permanent availability in every destination.

Our current planning terms use a 14-day quotation validity period, a 50% booking deposit and one consolidated review round. Digital working files are normally retained for 90 days, and travel outside Nairobi is quoted separately. Your signed quotation takes priority wherever different terms are agreed.
